League Changes

As from next season Orwell FC will no longer be in the Ipswich and District Licensed Trade League, we are moving across to the Flare Recruitment Ipswich Sunday Football League. This is something that has been discussed at length, and the committee feel now is the right time to move. The Flare Recruitment League is run a lot more smoothly than the Licensed Trade, and we should play more games. Also it will be good to be playing different teams to those we have been playing against for the last 4years or so. We have been put in at the bottom end of the leagues (MB4 and MB5) but I think this may serve us well and we should have a strong chance of promotion or even winning our leagues next season. As we are moving across we need to re-sign every single player that is going to be playing for the club next year. So please can you return your signing on forms to your manager with the £12 signing on fee ASAP!!!! However no player that owes any subs from last season will be able to sign until they have fully paid their outstanding balance.

Training

Pre season training has now started and we would like to see as many of you there every week as possible. If you have any mates that may be interested in joining us, please bring them along. Training is every Thursday at the Grove starting at 7pm-finishing at 8:30pm.

I am in the process of booking up our friendlies for August. We should have a game for each Sunday of that month, your manager will let you know who they will be against when they are all booked and confirmed.

With the Grosvenor willing to stay on as our sponsor for next season we are not looking for another pub to aid with sponsorship, but if you know of any other businesses that might be prepared to sponsor us please let me know ASAP and I can look into it.
